Eyelash crested geckos are omnivores and do well on a diet consisting of a variety of vitamin/calcium dusted insects such as crickets, mealworms and waxworms as well as fruits, fruit baby food and prepared foods. They are nocturnal which means that they sleep during the day and are active at night. They will tame nicely with frequent, gentle handling as juveniles. These geckos come in a variety of colors, including orange, purple, pink, brown and gray.

Things to remember

Handling
Give your pet 3-4 days to adjust to his new surroundings, then try holding him for short amounts of time. Take care to never handle him by the tail - it could break off.

Calcium dust
"Dust" the insects with a calcium supplement twice a week - ask an associate for details.

Feeding amounts & frequency
Feed juveniles twice a day; adults 3-4 times a week - offer an amount that can be consumed within four hours.

Water
Provide drinking water in a shallow dish and change it daily.

Housing
Use a 20-gallon or larger, tall glass terrarium with a screen lid for proper ventilation.

Bedding
Line the home with a 2"-3" layer of coconut fiber or bark bedding. Clean out waste weekly and change bedding at least once a month.
